AI Bots or simply called Bots are AI-controlled players introduced in the 18.0.0 update and removed in the 18.1.0 update but then later returned in the 23.3.0 update. They look like players but they behave like bots as they use random starter weapons.
Appearance[]
These bots were implemented and used when a player left the match to balance the teams, although they perform considerably worse and could lose the game for the team if they gave enough kills to the enemies.
They usually use either fixed set of default 2D avatar or 3D avatar and has a random default names in various languages. And they may wear random armors and wear, but this will not affect their stats and has fixed 200 hp as a result.
Behavior[]
AI Bots have a 360° Sightline, allowing them to detect players even if they’re behind them. Invisibility will have no effect on their ability to spot and will target invisible enemies like normal. AI bots are known to wander endlessly around the map in a path, if the map has destructible windows they will pass right through them as if the window was already broken, during this wandering state these bots will rarely if never jump. These bots will continue to wander until 2 certain criterias are met:
- If an enemy player or bot is within their sight radius.
- If the enemy is not behind a wall.
Once these criterias are met the bot will begin attacking either the player or the bot with whatever weapon they currently have out. These bots will also begin strafing from left to right randomly and will begin jumping frequently, they will occasionally throw either a Singularity Grenade or Nuclear Grenade at the enemy when fighting. If the bot has a shotgun it will be able to damage all enemies within its sight radius despite not looking in the general direction of the enemy. If the enemy is close enough to the bot it will switch to its melee weapon and begin to chase the enemy, only switching out if the enemy is far enough from them. The bots will return to its wandering state if it loses sight of the enemy, if the bot dies or if the enemy dies.
Weaponry[]
Bots have a variety of weapons in their arsenal, some weapons being terrible for spamming to high end shotguns that can kill players quickly. Each bot uses a weapon of a random category and a melee weapon. For example, a bot may use Combat Darts and Chipping Whip.
These weapons include:
- Chickaboom!, Space Devastator, Combat Darts, Drone Combat Station, Destruction System, Summon Dagger, Laser Bow, Assassin's Daggers, Assault Shotgun, Chipping Whip, Snowstorm Fury, Golden Friend, X-mas Destroyer, Triple Musket, Penilizer, Laser Cycler, Pixel Stream Sword, Goo Substance Scythe, Cyclops Sling, Necklace of the Ice King, Champion Electric Arc, Royal Sniper Rifle, Royal Fighter, Royal Revolver, Royal Ashbringer, Power Claw, Ice Paws, Final Verdict, Anti-Champion Rifle, Mammoth, Digital Sunrise, Christmas Ultimatum, Bedivere, Cerberus, Render Station, Ban Hammer, G00dc0de, Laser Ninja, Sword Soul Card, Magnetic Storm, Debts Collector, Mayor's Trophy Revolver, Godfathers Assistant, Laser Assistant, Dimerian Divider, Pully-Blasty, Piercer, Sand Tower Pistol, Boom Blaster, Deadly Umbrella, Deceitful Cheater, Poisonous Grasshopper, Dual Beam, Harbringer of Ragnarok, Temple Guardian, Overseer, Storm, Project 'Marlin', NOOB Rifle, Undertaker, Rebel, Peppermint Guardians, Exterminator.
Immunities/Bypasses[]
AI Bots are immune to/will ignore the following attributes:
- Charm/Weakening
- Disable Jumps
- Gadget Block
- Slows The Target/Stun
- Barrier
- Energy Shield
- Shields (All Weapons will go right through them as if their weapon has the "Shield Penetration" Attribute.)
- Electric Shock
- Gravitation Pull
Tips[]
- It is recommended to save your main weapon with low ammo and use weaker or unwanted category, preferably one that can one shot them to save ammo
- Do not let your enemies spot your bots early, thus you should keep distance between bots in your team so they do not get a kill faster
- if attacked by a shotgun bot, either kill them first or get out of its line of sight asap then quickly peek out to shoot them back
- If possible, make sure to target the bots first before the enemy to gain extra kills. As they are predictable and will die instantly on hit
- Using certain melee weapons like Ice Ninja Axe or Second Life Vacuum may allows you farm bots at extreme efficiency if safe to do so
- It is not recommended to get extremely close as they do not have a switch delay to a melee and may hit you instantly which can do considerable amount of damage depending on the melee
- The bots can be useful for tasks as it usually allows easy progress on these, joining a map with less players will usually give you better chance of giving you bot exclusive lobby
- All hinderance type debuff like slow is useless on bots
Bugs[]
- Bots sometimes walk to one spot and do absolutely nothing, this instance can be easily found in Paradise Resort
- Bots holding a shotgun can hit all enemies in line of sight at exact same time
- Bots holding flamethrower has infinite range as long they are in attack range
- Bots may have a chance to randomly flick in random direction if you are too close, this however will not affect their accuracy depending on the weapon
- Bots will teleport to high places randomly if its in their pathfinding, this instance is most noticeable in Phobos 2 Station to the point that hitting them is extremely difficult
- When somehow brought into Flag Capture (Usually due of cheats), they will orbit the flag for the rest of the match
- Bots holding a weapon with charge shot attribute will shoot at full charge at high speed, causing bots holding Eraser to cause a absolute mess by filling the entire map with black holes
- This leads to such bot to be removed from the game permanently
- They are immune to all debuffs except damage overtime in the game, making it impossible to hinder their movement at all. Not even gravitation pull
- They occasionally break and will not move at all and will be fixed once the player provokes them
- There is a rare bug where bots do not use avatars at all, this results in them appearing as pure white skin
Trivia[]
- The bots in tutorial behave differently, they do not jump and instead stand still and attack. They also wear only one of default skin
- Some bots at very early levels used a impossible weapon like one of campaign exclusive weapon and sometimes even bring these to Knife Party
- Prior to the 18.1 update, the developers decided to remove the bots from the game.
- However due to matchmaking fixes the bots have returned, they also use random weapons nowadays such as Chickaboom! and other powerful weapons.
- Certain bots used to use Ultimatum and Charge shot weapons as one of the weapon list.
- However due of them end up doing way too much damage (or cover the map with gravitation pulls) and cause the whole lobby to die all the time, they are quickly removed from the game
- At one point, some bots wears a hat cosmestic, this is later removed
