A-52 rifle. Widespread among mercenaries. The factory creating these rifles promised to implement a module that counts frags into the mechanisms (A-53). Because of the requests of the target audience.

—Weapon description in the Gallery

The Brutal HeadHunter (Previously the Ultimate HeadHunter) is a weapon found in the Sniper section of the Armory. It was added in the 4.6.0 update.

Description[]

It is a realistic green sniper that shoots heavy bullets. It has below average damage, a moderate fire rate, a small capacity, and average mobility. It is a 2 headshots despite it being a Rare weapon.

Appearance[]

It looks similar to the Barrett M82 Anti-Material Rifle. It has a long green base and receiver, with red stripes near the front end. It has a long barrel with a muzzle brake at the end and a shoulder stock. On top of the gun, there is a long and narrow scope. On the bottom is a black-coloured magazine and a folded black bipod in front.

Performance[]

This sniper shoots regular bullets with instant bullet travel time. It has a slow fire rate, but great accuracy, due to it being a sniper. Moreover, this weapon possesses a 10x zoom optic sight, which allows it to pick off players in long range. This sniper is a rather great weapon for beginning players if they can get their hands on to it.

When reloading, the player takes out the magazine from the bottom of the weapon and replaces it with another one.

It gives delay on some weapons that are associated with Three Category Spam like the Thunderer and the Reflector.

Strategy[]

Tips[]

  • Use the scope to maximize effect and attack from a long distance.
  • Aim for the head to maximize Efficiency per shot.
  • Max out this weapon to your respective level (provided you are quite high-leveled [at least level 35 or higher]), so as to make this weapon deal devastating damage.
    • Fully maximize this weapon's upgrade so as to fool enemies into thinking you are using outclassed weapons that are really powerful.
  • This weapon is actually very deadly if the opponent has no armor. This weapon has the ability to one-shot unarmored, only if it has a high Efficiency.
  • Since it deals much damage (if higher leveled), you should aim well. Otherwise, you will pay dearly by being outsmarted by enemies that you try to kill using this weapon but in vain.
  • You can from the switch from the Exterminator to this weapon with no delay. This can allow you to switch Backup to Sniper to Special with no delay.

Counters[]

  • Get in close to an enemy using this weapon, as you will avoid taking serious damage. The cause of this is that the Brutal Headhunter has a very small crosshair meant for precision and accuracy, and also a very low fire-rate (as being a bolt-action sniper rifle). It will be very hard for the user to fire a direct shot at you, especially one-hit kill you if you move up close and move in various directions.
  • Any area damage weapons can mess the user's aim, giving you the time to finish them off.
  • Superior fire rate weapons forces to lose his/her control.
  • Experienced users can easily no-scope with this weapon, so strafing is recommended.
  • Simply use a good primary to take these users out in close-ranges or medium-ranges.

Recommended Maps[]

Basically any long ranged map as this is a Sniper.

Equipment Setups[]

Have a strong melee weapon, to attack anyone close, for this weapon is difficult to use in close combat since it is a sniper rifle. If you upgrade the headhunter is almost fully upgraded it is a single shot.

  • Promoting sniper gameplay at long ranges, this weapon can prove to be very decent in some situations. In lower levels this is a very formidable force to be reckoned with as this weapon could deal high amounts of damage to most low leveled players.

A high fire rate weapon to finish off weakened target.

A good 3 cat spam combo is Brutal Headhunter + Exterminator/Thunderer + Necklace of the Ice King. First, use the Necklace, then switch to the Exterminator/Thunderer, then switch to the Brutal Headhunter and back to the Necklace. Repeat this cycle. You receive no delay in between transitions.

Changelog[]

4.6.0

8.3.0

  • The weapon's appearance is like it's first upgrade (this Up was removed) and Elephant Hunter (PG3D) became another independent weapon.

12.5.0

  • This weapon was in Lucky Chest but it got removed from the chest in this update.

15.1.0

  • The Brutal Headhunter (PG3D) had a damage of 2-3 headshots kill.

16.5.0

  • This weapon got buffed to a 1-2 headshots kill.

22.1.0

  • The "One Dragon Story" skin was added for this weapon.

Trivia[]

  • Before the 8.3.0 update, it had two upgrades: the Ultimate Headhunter and the Elephant Hunter. Now it has the same appearance as its first upgrade, which has been removed. The Elephant Hunter now is an independent weapon purchasable in the Armory.
  • It is based on the real world Barret M82A1 Anti-Material rifle, specifically the Bolt-action XM107 version of it.
    • A discrepancy on this weapon is that an actual M82A1 has a 10-round magazine, while the Brutal Headhunter's magazine only has 7 rounds.
      • These are both for balancing reasons.
  • In German, it is called Brutaler Headhunter due to a translation error.
  • As of the 12.5.0 update, it is removed from the Lucky Chest.
  • In the 15.1.0 update, it took 2 to 3 headshots to kill. However, currently, this varies, depending on weapon efficiency and enemy health.
  • In 16.5.0, it is 1-2 headshots at any level as long as it’s maxed out.
  • This weapon at the moment is a well rounded, cheap yet powerful weapon, so you can use this even at high levels if you wish.
  • This, the Elephant Hunter (PG3D), the Harsh Punisher, the Overseer and the Heavy Sniper Rifle are technically "Anti-Material Rifles" and not sniper rifles.
  • This weapons grade was changed from Common to Rare in the current Upgrade System, however players who still have it in Common will not have the ability to max it to Mythical.
    • However, this isn’t the case anymore, as purchasing the skin for it in the Trader's Van will automatically upgrade the weapon to Mythical, even if the player’s gun is at Common.
  • The description implies that the "A-53" Variant of the Brutal Headhunter has the "StatTrak" module from Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which quantifies the amount of total kills that the user achieved with that weapon, with "frags" being a common replacement for the term kills.
  • The "One Dragon Story" skin changes the sounds of shooting and reloading for this weapon.
    • Also this skin is a reference to the Counter Strike: Global Offensive, at the skin "Dragon Lore" for AWP.
