The Purifying Shotgun is a Primary weapon added in the 21.9.0 update. It was originally obtained by reaching Tier 38 in the Antidote Season Pixel Pass.
Description[]
Purifying Shotgun is a Legendary Grade Primary weapon added in the 21.9.0 update. It has average damage, a fast firerate, average capacity, and average mobility. It is a 2-3 shot when maxed out.
Appearance[]
The Purifying Shotgun is a pump-action based shotgun with a chainsaw connected to the pump hold. It has a similar model to Law Enforcer, albeit this gun being a shotgun, and Law Enforcer being a sniper. However, this gun also holds a similarity to a real life Remington 870 shotgun.
The actual shotgun itself has a brown-orange color for the butt of the gun and the pump hold, while the rest of the gun is mostly gray, with some white dots, presumably bolts. There is also a yellow-golden cross near the tip of the barrel.
The chainsaw itself has an overall white design. However, the engine has a red tint to it, and a broken pullswitch, presumably what is used to start the chainsaw. The blade has a red-and-black hole at the tip of it, possibly a vent hole. There is also some slime colored stain near the front-bottom of the blade, presumably from a zombie.
Performance[]
It has decent damage, a fast firerate, average capacity, and low mobility. It is a 2-3 shot when maxed out.

- Chainsaw will deal constant melee damage in front of the user, regardless if they're firing or not.
- Bonus Kill Points gives its user 45% more points upon killing them, though it can sometimes vary.
Upon firing, it fires 15 hitscan pellets in a circular formation, making it fairly easy to aim with.
It is recommended to stay relatively close to your enemy, as Purifying Shotgun has mediocre damage dropoff.
It has fixed delay, meaning when you deploy this weapon, there will be a short animation that plays before you can fire the weapon.
Generally, Purifying Shotgun is an average shotgun and there are better options to use.

Strategy[]
Tips[]
- If tied in a Duels or Deathmatch match, attempt to get a kill with this weapon, as this weapon will award 45% more points for each kill.
- Do not bother to kill an opponent with the
attribute, as it will take too long with its minuscule damage. Rather, use it as a sort of "back off" tool to keep enemies from getting too close. - Aim for the head, though keep in mind you can't headshot with it at mid-long range.
- Use it as a finisher, as the can quickly bring you to 1st place on your team.
Counters[]
- Avoid its users in Deathmatch, as a single kill can determine the outcome of a match for them.
- Keep your distance, as Purifying Shotgun, like any other shotgun, struggles at longer distances.
- You can usually overpower its users with another shotgun, as Purifying Shotgun has relatively average stats for a shotgun and is generally outclassed.

Equipment Setups[]
Use it with a strong Sniper to greatly lower an enemy's health. This way, you can easily one tap them and get the bonus points whilst conserving your ammo.
Etymology[]
The word "Purifying" refers to the act of extracting something; In this context, it purifies demonic spirits, indicated by the cross at the edge of the barrel.

Trivia[]
- It is based off of a Remington 870 shotgun with a chainsaw attached to the pump hold.
- Strangely enough, the reload sound is not synced with the reload animation. When you rev the chainsaw, the revving noise only plays after the animation is finished.
- In real life, Purifying Shotgun would be incredibly difficult to use, as the chainsaw on the pump would make it incredibly heavy. Additionally, it could be a hazard to the person using it, as the chainsaw could easily injure them if they don't handle it properly.
